FRIDAY FRAMES| BRIDES SPEAK | WISCONSIN BARN PHOTOGRAPHER

My Friday Frames inspiration this week came right from the mouths of a bride on her wedding day, and a bride to be at her engagement session. I thought what they said was a light bulb moment and really wanted to share with all of you (especially brides to be!)

"yeah, it's funny when your planning your wedding it seems like you really need all those shots {on a pre-planned shot list from the internet} but come the day of all that really matters is the candid, real moments that are happening all around us" ~Sarah Knudtson married 6/21/15

"I made this skirt because I figured this is our one chance to show our personalities, I wanted something really fun that stood out, I think it's really a give and take with couples and photographers, you get out what you put into it. Good photos don't just happen. I feel a lot of good energy here" ~Maggie to be wed 8/30/14

I also read this article that had so much "ah-ha" moments for brides to be booking a wedding photographer, I think its a really great piece of information, sit down and have a read with coffee! Click this link >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Wedding Photographer Myths and how to NOT brief your photographer

The Barn at Harvest Moon Pond Wedding | Rachel and Jared | Poynette WI Wedding Photographer

Rachel was referred to me by my March bride, Ashley.  We met over lunch one day and I immediatley knew I wanted to work with her. I was overjoyed when she decided to book me for her wedding.  Then at the engagement session I met Jared, her perfect match. The sweetest couple ever who are so genuine and really fun to be around. They really "get it" when it comes to weddings. Plus, I could never get enough of The Barn at Harvest Moon Pond. Needless to say their wedding was beautiful and a dream job for me.  A beautiful venue, amazing bride and groom, her dress, and a super fun wedding party makes my job the best. I couldn't be happier with this day! Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Miller!

storyboarded-28storyboarded-2 The happy couple went flea marketing for mismatched beer glasses, mugs and wine glasses for their guests to choose from! Love this idea. I actually scored a wine glass from Burr Oak Winery where I got married! How meant to be is that?! storyboarded-5 storyboarded-4 Rachel was breathtaking, her dress was perfection and I love how she didn't let her bridesmaids see it until she was in it. That reaction is classic! If you can hold out, don't let everyone see your dress beforehand, what a moment. storyboarded-9 storyboarded-6 storyboarded-10 storyboarded-27 storyboarded-12 storyboarded-13 storyboarded-15 storyboarded-19 storyboarded-16 storyboarded-18 storyboarded-20 storyboarded-17 storyboarded-25 storyboarded-30 storyboarded-31 storyboarded-32 storyboarded-34 storyboarded-35 storyboarded-40 storyboarded-21 storyboarded-22 storyboarded-11 storyboarded-36 storyboarded-7 storyboarded-26 storyboarded-23

Wisconsin Wedding Photographer | One Frame Friday | Reflecting

May, 2014 already!

Wedding season just days away, I'm feeling really thankful in life lately, Thankful I am organized, thankful I got my gear cleaned and repaired, thankful I have the ability to balance my schedule however I want to, thankful I learned to keep my eyes on my own paper, thankful for a car to drive, a house to live in, a thankful I have an amazing husband, (like superhuman amazing) and thankful for the cutest 2 little boys ever that light my entire world and on top of all of that, I am thankful I have a small world of photography I get to call my own.

Photography has brought me challenges that stood the test of time and the test of change, it fuels my creative side, challenge me and opens doors for me everyday. I feel with each year I grow as a photographer and a person and I couldn't be more thankful for it.  I know someday I won't be a photographer anymore, but until then I am soaking up my time as a photographer with the amazing places it takes me and people I meet and moments I experience.

I'm a firm believer you should do what you love. Like all things, If I didn't love it, I wouldn't make room in my life for it.

Irish Barn Wedding | Drew + Brits Swoon-worthy Wedding at Whistling Straits | Irish Barn | Kohler Wedding Photographer | Dani Stephenson Photography

*Swoon*

There you have my description of this  Whistling Straits, Irish Barn wedding, if I could sum it up on 1 word that would probably be it because thats what I did all day was swoon. Brit was the maid of honor in a wedding I shot in 2010, I remembered her when she contacted me last year. Their wedding vision changed a bit from backyard to this breathtaking future PGA championship golfcourse. She asked if I was ok with the change, there was no need to ask- this location is AMAZING.

This couple planned there wedding across country as they are orignally from my area they are traveling the US for following their careers. Drew loving golf naturally chose this place probably so he could get ready next to Tiger Woods locker (which he did) and Brit chose it because she knew it was a perfect backdrop for photos. I love that Brit was refreshingly organized and had everything well thought out which in turn made this entire wedding go off without a hitch.

Brit was stunning, Drew was thrilled, the venue was perfect, their guests never stopped laughing and smiling, isn't that what it's all about?

The guys in stylish suits really fit into this outdoor wedding. storyboarded-29 storyboarded-33 storyboarded-23 storyboarded-8 I think my most favorite part of the wedding was the ceremony, 6pm gorgeous ceremony, the wedding party walked up indiviudally to a really fun and interactive family hooting and hollering at their entrance, yes there was even some dance moves to one of my favorite songs "love you to the end" by The Pogues listen here while you look through the photos. The reason they walked up alone was because Brit had bridemen and Drew had groomsmaids! See what I mean about making it all about them? I loved it.storyboarded-9 storyboarded-7 storyboarded-10 storyboarded-11 storyboarded-12 The Irish barn was so dreamy and quaint and after seeing it, I really understood the "Irish" touch. I actually felt like I was in Ireland all day with the greens and rolling hills and even Brit's look with the flowers in her hair and her vintage dress. storyboarded-2 storyboarded-3 storyboarded-1 storyboarded-4 storyboarded-14 storyboarded-15 105C0705 More photos after dinner is a must..I looooove these.storyboarded-31 whistling straits wedding whistling straits wedding 2 To the bride and groom, I can't thank you enough for having me photograph this magical day. I truly wish you all the best!! To Tasha and Abby- This day was only better because you were there with me thank you for you help and support.whistling straits wedding 3 This venue provided almost an all-inclusive day, if your looking for a worry free day you should check out Whistling Straits.
